Go with the flow: Novel rural internet proposal

DIT chairman Tom Collins has called on the government to deliver high-speed broadband in rural areas by using group water schemes.

His comments come at a time of growing frustration over the long delays to award the contract for providing high-speed broadband to almost one million people.

Collins said the group water schemes would be able to get community support to bury the fibre optic cabling on private lands at no cost.
