Declan Ganley, founder of Rivada Networks, is facing a contempt of court order for refusing to hand over shares in the company as part of a dispute over a $16.2 million debt registered in the US state of Delaware.

Ganley has been involved in a bitter dispute with former backer David Shuman, the New York financier behind the company Astraea, with litigation in New York, Delaware and Texas.
