Frances Fitzgerald has not ruled out a possible run for the presidency in 2025.

The former Fine Gael minister and current MEP announced her intention not to contest the next European elections last month.

In her statement at the time, she did not explicitly say she was retiring, but did reflect on her career in politics.

Asked last week if she was finished with electoral politics for good, Fitzgerald said she “wouldn’t rule out anything”.
