Former Ireland rugby star Dan Leavy launches whiskey brand
Mullingar-based Ogham Whiskey will start with small batch production to establish the brand before expanding
Dan Leavy, the former Leinster and Ireland rugby player, is launching a new whiskey this month.
Leavy is co-founder of Ogham Whiskey alongside his brother Adam, who represented Ireland in Rugby Sevens at the Tokyo Olympics, his father Donal and Doug Leddin, formerly of Dingle Distillery.
“Adam and I knew how short our rugby careers would be and wanted to get started on something else. When I got an injury that caused me to retire, I got in touch with Doug and approached him with the idea,” Dan Leavy told the Business Post.
