Alan Dillon, the Fine Gael TD and former Mayo footballer, has called on the Minister for Finance to slash the licence fee at the next budget amid controversy over some high-profile GAA games only being available to view on GAAGo, the paid streaming service.

Dillon has written to Michael McGrath as well as to Catherine Martin, the Minister for Media, accusing RTÉ and the GAA of “cherry-picking” certain big games to place behind a paywall, ...
