Fianna Fáil calls for emergency phone data legislation as killer Dwyer launches appeal

Fianna Fáil has called for emergency legislation to be brought in after the Graham Dwyer case ruling to ensure gardaí can still access mobile phone data.

The 45-year-old married father was given a life sentence in 2015 for the murder of childcare worker Elaine O’Hara.

But the High Court recently found that the law which allowed investigating gardaí to access his mobile phone data was in breach of EU law.
