‘Fast-track’ planning for housing schemes taking seven months

New documents provided by An Bord Pleanála show that it is taking an average of around 30 weeks per large development, from the first consultation to the final decision

An Bord Pleanála’s ‘fast-track’ planning process for large housing developments is taking at least seven months on average.

It allows large developers to skip the normal planning process at council level in an attempt to speed up the delivery of estates and apartment blocks of over 100 units.
