Farmers face €100,000 bills under residential land tax plan

Farmers around the country face Revenue bills of more than €100,000 under the current proposals for the Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT).

An analysis by the Irish Farmers Association estimates hundreds of its members could be hit by the zoned land tax, which will place a 3 per cent annual levy on the market value of around 25,000 acres of zoned residential land around the country.
