Fáilte Ireland pulls tourism adverts for Dublin following riots
The decision to pull the promotions for the capital came after a night of violence in the city streets
Fáilte Ireland has pulled adverts about Dublin that were due to run in the coming days following the violence in the capital, the Business Post has learned.
The state agency is charged with primarily promoting tourism in Ireland to the domestic market.
It invests millions of euro annually on advertising, including the Discover Ireland, Wild Atlantic Way and Visit Dublin campaigns.
Fáilte Ireland was due to run adverts in national publications on Saturday that promoted Dublin as a tourism destination. But a spokesman for the tourism body confirmed that the agency has decided to pull some adverts that were due to run in the coming days.
