Bank of Ireland will pay its best-performing staff just half of the maximum bonus the lender told workers they could receive, the Business Post can reveal.

Workers at the bank will receive bonuses worth a maximum of 5 per cent of their annual salary as part of its first variable pay deal since the financial crash, according to a note circulated to its staff yesterday.
