EU protectionism poses challenge for Irish insurance firms, says industry body

The protectionist approach of member states to the EU single market poses challenges for Irish insurance firms operating in Europe, according to Insurance Ireland.

The industry body said that greater integration between regulators, industry and policymakers in financial services would strengthen the single market.

Ireland is “perfectly positioned” to act as a gateway to the insurance industry in Europe, according to the industry group.
