EU leaders to discuss Gaza ceasefire again in January after failure to agree position – Taoiseach

European Union leaders will hold further discussions in January on a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza after failing to back calls for a suspension of hostilities following a crucial summit in Brussels, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said.

The two-day European Council meeting ended with no new agreed position on the war in the Middle East despite Varadkar saying on Friday that there was a “very clear majority” of EU leaders in favour of a ceasefire.
