ESB to break ground on first solar farm project in Meath

German solar energy company Greencell has won the contract for the first of three solar farms being constructed by ESB

ESB is set to begin work on its first wholly-owned solar farm as it awarded a construction contract to German company Greencells GmbH.

The construction of Bullstown Solar Farm, which will be south-east of Ashbourne in Meath, will begin in early 2024. The €13 million project will deliver 8.5 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 2,000 homes.
