ESB has opened a battery plant in Dublin to provide storage capacity for excess renewable energy.

The facility, based at its Poolbeg site in Dublin, will provide 75MW (150MWh) of fast-acting energy storage capacity and forms part of the body’s €300 million investment in a series of major battery plants. It will assist the ESB with its grid stability measures and deliver more renewable energy to the country’s electricity system.
