Energia’s 100% green electricity claims misleading, advertising watchdog rules

Advertising claims by Energia that it could deliver “100 per cent green energy to your home” were misleading and inaccurate, the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) has found.

The ASAI was investigating a series of complaints made by Lynn Boylan, the Sinn Féin senator, concerning online advertisements by Energia where it claimed to sell “100% Renewable Electricity” and encouraged customers to: “Get 100% Green Energy to Your Home & Save 41 per cent”.
