Employers’ groups split on public sector pay deal

Private employers’ groups Isme and Ibec were split about the government’s deal which will provide for pay increases of 10.25 per cent for the public sector over two-and-a-half years.

Neil McDonnell, chief executive of Isme, said he was very concerned at the agreement while Ibec said it was crucial to avoid industrial action from public sector unions.
