Elon Musk, Twitter’s chief executive, has criticised proposed Irish laws on hate speech as "a massive attack on freedom of speech."

A series of amendments to the hate crime bill put forward by People Before Profit on Wednesday, and supported by Sinn Féin, were defeated in the Dáil, prompting criticism from Musk on Saturday.
