Electricity bills could drop by 20 per cent as wholesale prices fall

Cost will still remain high this winter despite the reduction, and well above the European average

Household electricity bills could fall by as much as 20 per cent this winter but will leave Irish prices well above the European average, according to Daragh Cassidy of bonkers.ie.

His comments come after figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show wholesale electricity prices were 42.5 per cent lower in April this year when compared with April 2022.
