Electric Ireland to reduce prices in move that could cut customers’ bills by €400 a year

Energy provider has announced 10% reduction in electricity prices, and 12% in gas prices, from November 1

Electric Ireland will reduce electricity prices by 10 per cent, and gas prices by 12 per cent, in a move that it says could save some households €428 a year on their combined bills.

The utility company said this morning that electric customers would save an average of €212.06 a year as a result of the decrease to both the unit rate and standing charge, while gas customers would save an average of €216.67.
