Eamon Ryan promises up to €600m windfall tax payday will be used to support households

Eamon Ryan, the Minister for Climate Action, has promised that up to €600 million from the new windfall tax on energy companies will be “recycled” back to support households.

The government has announced the details of its own windfall tax, which is based on the principles agreed by all EU member states last September.
