€8m ‘unrecoverable’ after HSE bought ventilators with no business case

Officials estimate that more than €8 million is “unrecoverable” of the amount that the HSE spent buying ventilators during the early days of the Covid pandemic.

A new report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) found after the virus outbreak, the HSE identified that there were 533 ventilators available for use for adult patients in the acute hospital system.
