Disinformation poses ‘serious threat’ to Ireland's democracy and national security

Disinformation poses a serious threat to Ireland's democracy and national security, European Movement Ireland has told an Oireachtas committee.

The non-profit organisation said that disinformation campaigns seek to “manipulate public opinion” and can “undermine free and fair elections” and other democratic institutions.
