Data watchdog submits proposals for reform as criticism grows
Pressure is building to strengthen the structure of the DPC to help it cope as Europe’s frontline regulatory authority for Big Tech
The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) has asked the government to consider proposals to change its management structure as it comes under increased scrutiny over its handling of Big Tech cases.
The discussions are separate to a review initiated by the Department of Justice last week to consider whether there should be extra commissioners added alongside Helen Dixon, it is understood.
