New data suggests a large volume of used cooking oil used for renewable biofuels in Europe is fraudulent and may be coming from virgin palm oil, an industry expert has claimed.

James Cogan, a policy advisor with the biofuel company Ethanol Europe, recently received data from the European Commission on the origins of used cooking oil which goes into Europe’s biodiesel and HVO fuels.
