Dart line to Dublin south-west and Celbridge starts moving through planning

Work to upgrade and electrify the existing line along the route is estimated to take until the end of the decade

The government has pledged to move ahead with the Dart+ South-West rail project, which will be submitted for planning at the end of the month.

This will extend Dart trains from Dublin city centre throughout Dublin south-west to Kildare, as part of a wider expansion of Dart services in the coming years.

The existing stations along the route include Park West and Cherry Orchard, Clondalkin, Adamstown and Hazelhatch and Celbridge in Kildare.
