Currys Ireland records post-tax loss amid revenue slump

Loss at Irish operation coincides with poor showing in trader’s Nordic locations

Currys, the electronics trader, recorded a post-tax loss of €289,000 for its Irish operation in 2023, as revenues fell by 10 per cent.

Currys Ireland’s total intake for the financial year ending 29 April 2023 came to €192 million, down from €214 million for the same period in 2021-2022.

The new accounts, filed with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), coincide with the parent company’s “mixed” full-year results up to April 2023 announced last year, when the firm said that its “strengthening” UK & Ireland performance was offset by a poor Nordic showing.
