The government is in discussions with the GAA about using Croke Park’s National Handball Stadium, as well as Pairc Uí Chaoimh in Cork, to temporarily house Ukrainian refugees amid an ongoing supply shortage, the Business Post understands.

The two venues could be pressed into service as emergency accommodation in the coming weeks as concerns grow over where the government will house the thousands of refugees currently staying in student accommodation when colleges return in September.
