Cost of mica scheme to rise €50m as hundreds of homes from new areas to be covered

The state’s mica redress scheme is set to be opened to four new counties impacted by defective blockwork, adding up to €50 million to the cost of the programme.

The Currency reported on Tuesday that four additional local authorities – Wexford County Council, Carlow County Council, Sligo County Council and Fingal County Council – have applied to be included in the €3 billion defective block grant scheme.
