Consumer watchdog probes GAAGO’s domestic offering

Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says service was not granted clearance to stream matches to domestic audiences

The state consumer watchdog has confirmed it has opened an investigation into GAAGO is for operating a domestic service without approval.

The revelation follows a discussion on the streaming platform at an Oireachtas committee on Wednesday, where politicians heard that the service is expected to generate revenues of €4 million in 2023.
