Consumer protection watchdog launches raids on home alarm firms

The consumer watchdog has carried out a series of raids on businesses in the home alarm industry.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) said the searches as part of an ongoing “criminal investigation” into potential breaches of competition law.

“Authorised officers from the CCPC were supported by colleagues from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau and An Garda Síochána,” the CCPC said in a statement.
