Construction inflation risks scuppering social housing projects, expert group warns

Construction inflation is increasingly posing a risk to the delivery of social housing, a national body representing non-profit approved housing bodies (AHBs) warned politicians today.

The Irish Council for Social Housing, which lobbies on behalf of more than 270 AHBs, told the Oireachtas housing committee that the increased cost of loan finance is making it more difficult to develop social housing projects.
