Competition watchdog launches legal proceedings against Irish Bookmakers Association

The lobby group said it operates in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has filed legal proceedings against the Irish Bookmakers Association (IBA) as part of a criminal investigation into alleged anti-competitive activities.

The consumer watchdog filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in an effort to compel the IBA, a lobby group for the gambling industry, to disclose potentially privileged material.
