Company making video game controllers for people with disabilities raises €2.4m

Byowave describes its invention, the Proteus Controller, as “like Lego for video game controllers”

Byowave was founded by Eibhlin O’Riordan and Brandon Blacoe, who designed a computer game controller based around O’Riordan’s needs as a gamer.

Byowave, a company that makes computer games controllers for people with disabilities, has raised €2.4 million from a number of seasoned investors, including Halo Business Angel Network, Enterprise Ireland and Irrus Investments.

The Halo Business Angel Network, which is a a group of experienced technology entrepreneurs, put in the largest share, with an investment of €1.1 million.

Irrus, another angel investment fund led by Aidan O’Driscoll and Mike Ryan, invested nearly €650,000.
