Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tánaiste Micheál Martin have said that it would have been better “in hindsight” if Minister of State Niall Collins had stepped out of a meeting on the sale of a property which was later bought by Collins' wife.

Collins was a member of Limerick County Council when the sale of a property in Patrickswell in Limerick was recommended by the council’s Bruff local electoral area committee in 2007.
