RTÉ’s Claire Byrne Live, the prime-time current affairs programme, will be taken off air after seven years, the broadcaster has confirmed.

The programme will air for the last time next Monday with the conclusion of the current series.

Byrne, who has presented the programme since 2015, said she was focusing on her radio programme, which airs every weekday on RTÉ Radio 1.
