Limerick needs more police on the streets, according to Limerick Chamber of Commerce, which has urged the Minister for Justice to hire private security for the city’s court to free up gardaí.

Limerick Chamber of Commerce, which represents businesses in the city, had meetings and phone calls with Senator Kieran O’Donnell and Garda Superintendent Derek Smart “to highlight challenges to city centre development posed by anti-social behaviour”, lobbying filings show.
