Cairn seeks to avoid land hoarding fine on former RTÉ site
Developer in line for hit of €3 million per annum on holding it says it can’t develop due to opposition from local residents and other issues
Cairn Homes has lobbied Dublin City Council in a bid to avoid millions of euro in land hoarding fines being levied on a €100 million site it acquired from RTÉ in Dublin 4.
The development firm said the “risk of judicial reviews”, infrastructural issues on the site and the potential for discovering archaeological remains meant that development of it in a timely manner might be out of its control.
