Peter Burke has directly intervened to order South Dublin County Council to scrap plans for an effective ban on data centres in the area, the Business Post has learned.

The Minister of State for Housing wrote to the council’s chief executive criticising its decision to stipulate that data centres were “not permitted” in areas zoned for employment in its draft development plan.
