Irish children are growing up with foreign accents due to RTÉ’s lack of investment in children’s programming, Cathal Gaffney, the co-founder of animation studio Brown Bag, has said.

“The challenge I have is that 25 per cent of the population of Ireland are under the age of 16 and 5 per cent of RTÉ’s budget is spent on children’s programming,” Gaffney told The Sunday Business Post’s Media Matters podcast.
