Bord na Móna launching pilot green hydrogen energy plant in Offaly

The energy business plans to provide 200,000 kg of green hydrogen annually from the Mount Lucas plant

Bord na Móna has announced plans to launch the first green hydrogen production plant in Ireland.

Construction on the 2MW pilot plant at Mount Lucas, Co. Offaly is set to commence next year with the plant going into operation in 2025.

The plant will generate 200,000kg of green hydrogen annually and the energy produced will be used to aid in decarbonising the transport sector. Bord na Móna said the plant will produce enough green energy ...
