Bord na Móna chief: offshore wind projects ‘a natural evolution’ for semi-state

Two projects off east and south-east coast will cost €6 billion in joint venture with Spanish developer Ocean Winds

Bord na Móna hopes to submit formal plans for two offshore wind projects by the end of next year as part of its joint venture with Ocean Winds, the Spanish developer.

The offshore wind farms, which will be at two locations on the east coast, are likely to cost in excess of €6 billion to deliver and will involve the single largest capital investment in the 90-year history of Bord na Móna.
