Bord na Móna and SSE to invest €1bn as part of joint venture deal to build new wind farms

Both companies plan to develop a major portfolio of onshore wind farms in the midlands that will power up to 500,000 homes

Bord na Móna, the semi-state energy company, and SSE Renewables have signed a major joint venture agreement to invest up to €1 billion to build a significant portfolio of onshore wind farms across the country.

Under the terms of the partnership, both companies plan to jointly develop 800 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy projects over the coming years, which would have the capacity to power almost 500,000 homes. The wind farms will be developed on ...
