Bord Gáis Energy and Mitsubishi are chewing over opening Europe’s first ammonia-fired power generator facility at Bord Gáis’s Whitegate power station in Co Cork.

Centrica - Bord Gáis’ parent company - has said that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the development, construction, and operation of facility, which would be one of just two in the world to use the low-carbon fuel to generate electricity.
