Barristers ask state to reverse ‘drastic cuts’

The Bar of Ireland has been lobbying Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe to reverse “drastic cuts” to barristers’ fees in criminal cases, in place since the economic crash.

A recent letter to the Minister complains that the cooperation and “good faith” shown by members of the Bar on professional fee matters over the last decade was “now not being reciprocated” by government.
