Astellas to invest €330m in new drugs manufacturing plant in Kerry and create 100 jobs

The Japanese pharmaceutical giant will expand its workforce in Ireland to more than 500 employees once the new, state-of-the-art fill-finish plant is operational in 2028

Astellas, the Japanese pharmaceutical company, is planning to invest €330 million to build a new state-of-the-art drugs manufacturing facility in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The multinational pharma company, which already has significant operations in Killorglin in Kerry and in Mulhuddart in Dublin, said it intends to submit a planning application to build a large-scale fill-finish plant at a 45-acre greenfield site at the Ida industrial park in Tralee.
