After almost a decade of legal wrangling, the world’s largest antitrust case will inch towards its final conclusion this week.

On Thursday, the advocate general of the European Court of Justice will make a preliminary ruling on the European Commission’s finding in 2016 that Apple received illegal state aid from the Ireland between 2003 and 2014, and that the US tech giant owes the Irish exchequer more than €13 billion in unpaid taxes.
