Allowing nightclubs to open until 6am will ‘move Ireland out of the 90s’

Clubs are set to be allowed to open until 6am, while opening times for pubs will be extended to 2.30am

Industry figures have said the move for pub and club opening times to be relaxed should improve trading, but added that more is still needed to support the late-night sector.

Minister for Justice Helen McEntee is today bringing a new bill to cabinet regulating the sale of alcohol, which aims to reform the country’s 200 year old licensing system. The changes included will mean longer opening hours for both pubs and nightclubs.
