Two of Ireland’s major supermarket chain have committed to implement the new living wage rate for its staff across Ireland.

Lidl and Aldi have agreed to increase the wages of those below the incoming living wage rate - €14.80 per hour - to bring their earnings in line with the new guidelines.

Lidl had previously adopted the living wage in 2015 and has implemented the updated rate annually since then.
