AIB Group announces 50 per cent increase to mortgage switcher payment
Weeks after cutting its rates for green mortgages by 0.2 percentage points AIB has announced switchers will be paid €3,000
The AIB Group has announced a €3,000 increase to its mortgage switcher payment, a 50 per cent rise.
Today, it said mortgage customers who switch to AIB, EBS or Haven are eligible for the payment as well as customers already in the pipeline, who draw down their mortgage from May 27. The payment was previously €2,000.
The group said the payment was to help cover the costs associated with switching and aims to encourage customers to do so "particularly those whose fixed rate mortgages are coming to an end ".
