Aer Lingus chief executive Lynne Embleton has warned staff costs need to be managed at the airline after it reported a fourfold increase in profits last year.

Announcing full year results for 2023 on Friday morning, the airline reported an operating profit of €225 million for last year, which was up almost 300 per cent on its 2022 performance.
